About this place

New Capital Seafood Restaurant anchors a corner of Rowland Heights with the kind of hospitality Platefolk looks for: a family-friendly room, an easygoing pace, and a room that does not try too hard.

The menu keeps attention on what the kitchen actually cooks well: dim sum, plates built for sharing, and the kitchen's daily strengths. Seafood here leans fresh and straightforward rather than overdressed. Portions and pacing favor a real meal, not a tasting-room sprint.

Bring friends who like unhurried meals, or come solo with a book and a long drink. Weeknights usually run quieter than weekends. The listing address is 1330 Fullerton Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748.

Put simply: New Capital Seafood Restaurant is a Rowland Heights place we would send a friend to - especially if they care about dim sum done with care.

Before you visit, skim recent neighbor notes on the listing and confirm hours on the door. Platefolk keeps this page as a field guide, not a frozen brochure - the best proof is still sitting down for a meal.

What we value here is consistency: a kitchen that repeats its strengths, a room that does not treat guests like tickets, and a New Capital Seafood Restaurant visit that still feels worth the trip across town. Bring curiosity, order something the staff recommends, and leave a short note afterward so the next diner arrives wiser.

It’s no wonder this place is always packed. It has freshest seafood and great service. We had a banquet last night and it didn’t disappoint. The huge lobster was fresh and it was made into a salad with fresh fruits. It was fresh and tasty. The duck was prepared with a fried bun and a slice of apple, again very tasty. It was a very creative way of serving Peking duck. Then there was the king crab that we had the kegs steamed and the rest was cooked with egg, which was my favorite. The service was so attentive that my wine glass and tea cup was never empty. It was one of the best seafood feast I had in recent years

Food was good, with the atmosphere of a typical Chinese seafood restaurant. Had a bit of a hiccup where the staff claimed to have given us a "4lb lobster" but the lobster on the plate was clearly nowhere near 4lbs in weight. To be fair to them, they did bring out more lobster to try and rectify the situation. Rest of the food was solid too.

We haven't been here in years because the quality of the food wasn't to our liking. I spoke to a friend and tsge told me to try them again. So my husband and I went for brunch and she was right. The dimsum was delicious and the quality improved 100% from the last time. I would recommend thus place and we didn't have to wait. We were seated right away. I guess because it was a Monday.

Big place and excellent meal. Loved the chow fun. Beef was excellent. Lobster was ok. ( I was just in Maine so hard to compare). Service was attentive

We came to this restaurant on a Sunday night. I've never seen a deep fried stuffed bean curd with shrimp paste cooked that way. It's basically a 5 cm x 4 cm bland, tasteless, FIRM tofu with super oily tempura batter and a tiny 3 cm tasteless shrimp paste underneath it. Maybe the main Chef is off on Sundays. The stir-fried squid is horrible -- it does not taste fresh. The kung pao chicken tastes good, but it is not cubed. The beef chow mein and yang chow fried rice both taste okay. The baked pork ribs with Special Sauce is horrible -- again it tastes nothing like a true Chinese dish.

This place was next to our hotel so decided to try out their Dim Sum. The food we ordered was very good and fairly authentic according to my Chinese wife. The staff was attentive and fast and the location was pretty busy. Overall recommended

If you're craving dim sum, this place is definitely worth a try. The dim sum menu is solid, offering a decent variety of dishes that satisfy those midday cravings. The food quality is good overall, flavorful, and filling. However, when it comes to dinner time, the experience takes a bit of a dive. The dinner menu isn't particularly impressive, and the foods lack in flavor. I wouldn't recommend coming during dinner time. The service, unfortunately, leaves a lot to be desired. The staff can be a bit inattentive and, at times, even rude.

Traditional Hong Kong that serve dim sum for breakfast and lunch on carts and traditional Chinese fare for dinner. Get the shui mai. Tasty and juicy. Also the Pineapple bread BBQ pork buns are bomb too.

This dim sum spot has a reputation for having loyal customers and was bustling with activity when we arrived. Unfortunately, despite the lively atmosphere, the food fell flat in terms of flavor. Everything we tried was surprisingly bland, which was disappointing. It’s a shame that our usual go-to dim sum place was closed that day; I would have much preferred it. While the service was decent and the place had its charm, the lack of flavor means I can’t see myself returning anytime soon

Came here 10am and was able to get seats pretty fast. Got chicken feet, siu mai, har gow, and beef rice roll. Beef rice roll was the star for me but the rest were still very very good! Best dim sum I’ve had in my life😀
